SAGITTARIUS partners at ESMO 2024

From September 13th to September 17th, many SAGITTARIUS partners and experts attended and participated in the European Society for Medical Oncology Congress (ESMO 2024), in Barcelona. A world-wide event where researchers can share the latest cutting-edge data and oncology knowledge, contributing to beating cancer.

SAGITTARIUS Principal Investigators held or moderated different sessions at the event, such as:

• Saturday, 14 September 2024, 18:35-18:45: Sebastian Stintzing (Charité - Universitatsmedizin Berlin, Hematology, Oncology, and Cancer Immunology Dept., Berlin) presented the session “Navigating complexities in patient cases: what’s your next treatment for refractory disease?”;
• Sunday, 15 September 2024, 15:15-15:25: Clara Montagut Viladot (Hospital del Mar - Parc de Salut Mar, Dept. Medical Oncology, Barcelona) was an invited discussant in a session about lower digestive gastrointestinal tumors;
• Monday, 16 September 2024, 14:45-16:15: Maria Elena Élez Fernandez (Vall d'Hebron University Hospital, Medical Oncology Dept., Barcelona) moderated and intervened during the special symposium “New technology, new ideas: What is on the horizon for colorectal cancer?”

Also, on Saturday 14 September 2024, there was the oral presentation of the first translational results of PEGASUS, the IFOM-AIRC trial that laid the foundations of SAGITTARIUS: “Transcriptional features of stage IIT4N0/III colon cancer associated with residual disease and ctDNA status after surgery in the PEGASUS trial” (presented by Enzo Medico, IRCCS Istituto di Candiolo, Italy, and co-authored by Silvia Marsoni, IFOM-IEO Campus, and Sara Lonardi, Istituto Oncologico Veneto IRCCS, among the others).
